About the BranchThe role of the Carbon Markets Branch is to provide insights, solutions and advice to decision makers, policy makers and the market to improve scheme operations and position the agency as a modern, efficient, and effective regulator. We:
- Increase confidence and knowledge in the carbon and renewable energy markets by delivering timely and accurate insights on our schemes and understanding the international context.
- Support the development of a robust and consistent climate-related disclosure policy framework in Australia through interagency partnerships and the administration of the Corporate Emissions Reduction Transparency report.
- Influence the direction of potential new schemes or policies that align with the objectives and functions of the agency, including policy development and implementation of the new Guarantee of Origin certification scheme for low emissions products and renewable electricity.
About the SectionThe Guarantee of Origin Scheme Establishment Section is responsible for developing and implementing the new Guarantee of Origin (GO) scheme. We are looking for passionate people to join our team to contribute to Australia’s efforts to tackle climate change.You will be joining our team in leading the implementation of a GO scheme for the Clean Energy Regulator. A scheme which will enable Australian businesses to sell verified low emissions products from renewable sources and fossil fuels domestically and to the world. The GO scheme will help unlock economic opportunities for Australian industry to meet growing domestic and international demand for verified renewable energy and clean products. The scheme will help quantify market value for the clean attributes of these products, enabling industry to make robust, credible emissions claims and unlocking trade and decarbonisation opportunities.You will work with a collaborative team and engage with market participants, ranging across industry, peak bodies, manufacturing organisations and carbon market developers, scientists, engineers and economists to develop and deliver a world-leading GO scheme that builds confidence in the domestic and global marketplace for verified low emission Australian products.If you have the skills and drive to succeed in making a positive impact in implementing climate and energy policy, we want to hear from you. Business Analyst will work closely with their team and manager to deliver new capabilities, systems, and processes to administer the GO scheme. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Gather relevant data, update financial and business models, and spreadsheet maintenance.
- Contribute new ideas and maximise the benefits of change, including the identification of opportunities to improve the efficiency of business processes.
- Gather and analyse evidence and data and document and analyse results.
- Assist the Project Manager in in the completion of sprints and associated sprint rituals for the GO Business Sections in the Scaled Agile Framework, or SAFe agile framework.
- Conduct business acceptance testing to validate that business requirements have been met, identify improvements or defects, and ensure the developed releases meet business conditions.
- Research and prepare draft written material including options papers, endorsement papers, business requirements based on data gathered, validated, and modelled.
- Resolve moderately complex enquiries from stakeholders and provide information and advice as a representative of the GO Technical Bridge Team.
- Undertake other duties as directed.
Qualifications/ExperienceAs a
Business Analyst, you will work within a small team to deliver section outcomes. As the successful candidate, you will have an ability to:
- Apply your knowledge and experience to new challenges.
- Respond positively to change and uncertainty.
- Interpret and apply legislation and emissions technical documentation.
- Work under pressure with challenging deadlines and competing priorities.
