Raise is a dedicated non-profit organisation that exists to help young people. They do one thing and they do it really well – youth mentoring.
Their mentoring initiative helps young people build resilience, feel connected, and look forward to a hopeful future. By matching trained volunteers with teenagers in need of a supportive and attentive adult who is there to listen – and be there just for them.
These early intervention mentoring programs operate in over 180 high schools across Australia, impacting more than 2,400 young people with qualified mentors and the program continues to expand each year.

The Impact you will have in this role

As the Business Development Manager at Raise Foundation, you will play a crucial role in identifying and developing new corporate relationships and expanding the organisation's network of partnership opportunities to raise significant funds aligned with established goals. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and secure financial and in-kind partnerships for the organisation across diverse sectors, including corporate entities and private philanthropic organisations
  • Engage in strategic outreach, fostering relationships through personalised communication and tailored pitches
  • Lead on the full cycle of partnership development from prospecting, introduction, relationship development, proposal management and pitching
  • Develop innovative, tailored partnership proposals that are focused on high value, multi layered opportunities to engage
  • Finalise partnerships by coordinating requirements, negotiating contracts, and integrating them with program management
  • Stay at the forefront of industry developments, events and networking opportunities, participating in these events to forge connections and stay ahead of emerging partnership prospects
  • Develop and deliver regular financial progress updates
  • Ensure individual corporate partnership targets are met and exceeded, and deliver impactful experiences for all committed partners
  • Utilise the designated CRM for lead management, opportunity tracking, and performance measurement
  • Act as the internal advocate for partners within Raise, ensuring their interests and contributions are recognised and supported
Skills and Experience
  • Proven Business Development experience with the ability to develop strategic partnership opportunities that are mutually beneficial, high value and multi-year
  • A proven track record in working to and exceeding new Business Development targets within a corporate partnership fundraising role or within a commercial setting
  • The ability to spot opportunities that are brand and value-aligned
  • Proficient in all aspects of sales planning, from strategic prospecting to closing while prioritising partner needs and satisfaction
  • Skilled in effectively identifying and nurturing relationships with diverse stakeholders including those in the corporate and private sectors, fostering trust and collaboration relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in order to effectively communicate and confidently present to a wide range of audiences
  • Exceptional organisational and project management skills, with demonstrated experience utilising CRM tools for efficient workflow management
  • Have a genuine passion and interest in empowering young people and supporting the organisation's advocacy efforts
