Business Development Manager

Established in 1966, Bonds Transport Group has been providing customers with prompt same day deliveries and outstanding customer service in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. Bonds has, in recent years, enhanced its capabilities and offerings with a strong 3PL operation, an air/sea freight division and an increasing interstate express freight capability. 

Bonds is looking for an experienced QLD Business Development Manager with an extensive knowledge of the Local Courier, Taxi Truck and Contract Logistics industry. 

Duties and responsibilities:

You will be responsible for developing new business whilst implementing sales strategies, ensuring the continued revenue growth of our Courier, Taxi Truck and Contract Logistics Division. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be tasked with: 

• Reporting sales performance against budget, with variance analyses and revised projections
• Coordinating the gathering of market intelligence covering competitors' products and sales strategies
• Negotiating major deals and maintaining key customer contacts at senior levels
• Working with other relevant managers to develop national sales strategy
• Recruiting, training, and motivating sales staff 
• Monitoring sales performance to ensure targets are met, and initiating corrective action where necessary

Skills and attributes

• Sound interstate transport industry knowledge
• Sales experience with a proven track record of success
• Ability to negotiate complex sales at senior levels
• Excellent motivational and persuasive skills
• Excellent planning and administrative abilities
• Developing marketing and promotional material, presentations and proposals
• Data and freight activity analysis to identify sales opportunities
• Develop operational initiatives, processes, and solutions for customers
