About the Role
The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating leads, advancing the sales process, and closing new business to support our client's growth targets. This role involves creating networks and direct relationships with private training providers, Universities, RTOs, and TAFEs across various vocational, professional, and academic sectors in Australia. The Growth Manager will not only sell our client's lead generation model but also diversify the client portfolio using a consultative sales approach, offering different commercial models and new product propositions. This presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to our client's growth strategy and steer the business forward.
The Role/Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a Business Development Strategy aligned with our client’s strategic priorities.
- Conduct B2B outreach via calls, emails, and LinkedIn, focusing on the education sector.
- Generate new business by building relationships with training providers, universities, RTOs, and TAFEs.
- Identify new customer opportunities through research and profiling, understanding company goals and procedures.
- Present our client’s value proposition and product features to potential clients.
- Take ownership of the pre-sales cycle, from prospecting to opportunity nurturing.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, including notes, follow-up dates, and company profiles.
- Build a strong pipeline of prospects, meeting monthly sales targets and KPIs.
- Provide regular updates on KPIs, pipeline, challenges, and feedback for marketing.
- Foster internal relationships with support functions to support sales and growth strategies.
- 2+ years of Business Development experience in direct sales, consistently meeting sales targets and managing pipelines effectively.
- Proficient in core sales techniques, including phone and face-to-face meetings.
- Strong communication skills.
- Capable of working independently while valuing teamwork.
- Proficient in using CRM systems for sales pipeline management.
- Basic proficiency in Excel for research and reporting purposes.
- Intermediate skills in PowerPoint or similar presentation platforms.
