About the Role:
We are seeking a Business Development Manager (Lubricants) to expand the Lubricant portfolio within NSW, VIC & TAS and achieve new business by building key customer relationships and identifying business opportunities. The role carries the responsibility of driving growth through the depots and sales team by supporting and coaching and will be measured through sales, financial performance, Health & Safety compliance, and operational excellence.
Based in: Melbourne, Sydney or Newcastle
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Lubricants Business Manager to develop and execute comprehensive account plans in collaboration with the sales teams setting clear objectives and growth strategies aligned with company goals
- Achieve financial targets for Key Accounts, including Volume, Turnover and Gross Margin
- Identify and capitalize upselling and cross-selling opportunities within the portfolio.
- Execute a prospecting strategy for key accounts, including data gathering, market knowledge, stakeholder management, and tender processes.
- Develop a pipeline within CRM, sharing insights, market knowledge, and experience.
- Cultivate and nurture long-term partnerships with key clients in the lubricants sector to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Address and resolve client issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Coach the wider sales team as a subject matter expert. Conduct customer business reviews to communicate and demonstrate value delivery, reinforcing relationships.
- Support and participate in field days within the Region.
Essential Skills and Experience
- 5+ years’ of B2B sales management experience in a similar hands-on role
- Experience within the lubricant market is a requirement
- Strong understanding of Commercial and Automotive sectors
- Demonstrated capability in achieving sales targets and growth
- Advanced negotiation and influencing skills, with experience in building and nurturing constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively both in a team environment and as a self-starter
- Capacity for informed decision making and problem solving.
- Proven communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite
- Understanding of the lubricants and fuel industry, market dynamics, and regulatory standards is advantageous.
