ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exhilarating role for a high performing and enthusiastic hunter! You will have the opportunity to show case your skills and abilities in sales with a world leading brand in the market. 

You will manage and strengthen the customer relationships hsy desires through regular workshop contact and using this experience by working closely with the sales team to use these opportunities to develop stronger business relationships. The role requires a strong aptitude for developing relationships as well as a keen knowledge of the automotive industry and hsy’s place in it. The development of new opportunities plus a focus on expanding the presence of hsy in the industry are key aspects and will be a primary focus of the role. Strategic planning for developing opportunities and working closely with Managers are important to the successful performance in the role. A strong level of reporting will be expected and will be used in the development of expanding hsy’s market presence.

Main tasks include:

  • Strategic Planning and Business Case Development;
  • Building Customer & Supplier Relationships and Networks;
  • Detailed and informative Business Development Reporting;
  • Driving hsy’s innovative digital platforms within the market; and,
  • Working in an integrated manner with the hsy sales team.

Specific tasks include:

  • Identifying key opportunities for business growth;
  • Identifying opportunities to increase, develop, and expand commercial relationships with new and existing clients;
  • Taking the lead of internal project teams to deliver the service and products to the clients in a timely manner;
  • Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs;
  • Following industry trends locally and internationally;
  • Ensuring effective uptake of hsy’s digital offerings by effectively qualifying and supporting users;
  • Working closely with Site Supervisors including, meetings, trainings, conference calls, group events;
  • Reporting on successes and areas needing improvement;
  • Maintaining safety, environment and quality outcomes and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements;
  • Developing and nurturing a culture of inclusion, learning, teamwork, and team engagement;
  • Ensuring key proposal materials e.g., profiles, corporate information and partnership data are up to date, of a high quality, and are available to sales staff;
  • Ensuring maintenance of basic Business Development data including timely updates to client details and weekly progress report of each project.

Skills & Experiences Required

  • A proven effective leadership ability. 
  • At least Five years' experiences as Business Development Manager in the related industry; 
  • A demonstrable solid degree of automotive knowledge and basic understanding of the operation of a workshop;
  • A demonstrable proven track record for success in meeting and exceeding sales targets;
  • A current and mature network which can be turned into new business within reasonable timeframes;
  • Well organised, self-motivated, with strong project management and people influential skills, can take the initiative and drive internal teams to deliver the best results to clients;
  • Valid Australian Driver’s License;
  • Willingness to travel, when and as required;
