About the Role:
As a Business Development Manager specialising in the food manufacturing sector, your role encompasses driving revenue growth and expanding the company's market presence within this industry. You will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders in food manufacturing, food service, and Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs), and tailoring the products and services to meet their unique needs. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in educating food service and QSR clients about the company’s offerings.
With a strategic approach and a focus on delivering value, you will contribute significantly to the success and profitability of the business within this dynamic sector.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering sales targets and growing the customer base in NSW, focusing on Food Manufacturing, Commercial Food Packers & Blenders but also educating food service and QSR on the products
- Securing contract cycles on major commodity and finished goods products
- Partnering with key customers to co-develop new products and expand product capability
- Supporting the sales team in achieving overall team budgets
- Assisting the leadership team in various commercial activities
- You bring a proven sales record of meeting and exceeding targets
- Ability to hunt and secure new customer accounts
- Strong knowledge of the food service industry
- Solid business acumen and understanding of commercial negotiations
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Professional demeanour with a focus on creative solutions and problem-solving
- Assertive social style with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Sales experience within FMCG, preferably in chilled/food products or food service
- Ideally you have an understanding of food manufacturing and product development processes
- Skills in supply contract negotiation and contract management
- Sales growth and volume versus margin targets
- Customer retention rates
- Accuracy and execution of contracts
- Forecast accuracy
