The company
A highly reputable multi-disciplinary firm providing Town Planning, Engineering, Surveying, Urban Design and Landscape Architecture services. Having grown considerably over the last few years, the Business Services team structure has also evolved.
The role
This is a strategic level position, requiring demonstrated experience to enhance and evolve the business support function of a large professional services firm. Lead a team of 5 to improve workplace efficiencies and ensure the smooth running of a 200+ person office.
You will be people-focused, with strong management and leadership experience. You will ideally have an understanding of the pressures, challenges and opportunities of a billable-hours environment, leading a new team of Office Coordinators to ensure a positive experience for both internal and external stakeholders. With a focus on process improvement and innovation, you will be able to create opportunities for career development as well as improving service excellence across the business. With a new team, this is an opportunity to make an impact!
Key responsibilities
  • Improve capability and elevate the Business Services function
  • Manage administration across the team
  • Lead, coach and develop the Business Services team
  • Manage the performance of direct reports
  • Support innovation and improvement of administrative processes
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and business unit leaders on initiatives to support the business strategy
Ideal experience
  • Experience in Professional Services firm, leading a support function - built/natural environment experience preferred
  • Strategic thinking, implementation and driving change
  • Business support management experience in a mid-large firm
  • Experience leading a team and having direct reports
  • Supportive and nurturing leadership style
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships
  • Focus on continuous improvement and innovation
