As part of the world’s largest supplier of secure vehicle identification solutions this company provide products and technologies that support Australasian governments with high performance transport identification solutions. The Australasian business has been the principal supplier within Australia and New Zealand for more than 65 years and we are seeking a talented business and operations manager to pick up this successful jurisdiction and identify and drive further growth and efficiencies.
As the Business Unit Manager in Victoria you will take full responsibility for the company’s outsourced manufacturing operation and be the key account interface, at Executive level, with our Victorian government customer and ensure that the rigorous demands of the state contract are met. You will need to believe in and be the local champion of the company’s key values of Reliability, Innovation, Sustainability, Dignity and Collaboration.
This role reports to the CEO in Brisbane, and you will work closely with the Group Technical Manager, CFO, CIO, Group Marketing Manager and the general management team across Australia and New Zealand.
You would describe yourself as a natural ‘hands-on leader’ that is passionate about developing people and teams. You are customer centric and have an instinct for solving customers pain points. You have a love for systems and process and its role in driving reliability and productivity.
To be successful in this role you have completed a degree in business, operations or engineering (Plus an MBA or similar additional qualification would be an advantage) and have appropriate postgraduate experience managing a multi-disciplinary manufacturing business where you have been responsible for customer contracts, production quality ISO9001, plant and equipment, workplace health and safety to AS/NZ4801 standards and leading small teams to achieve great outcomes. Experience managing with LEAN manufacturing principals and managing government contracts, tenders and relationships where targets are 100% DIFOT with zero product faults, will be highly regarded. Good computer literacy and good understanding Microsoft 365 and of ERP systems, ideally Microsoft NAV or Dynamics and advanced excel are essential.
This is a complex business that requires an analytical, detailed and process driven thinker with a high level of problem solving and communication skills that can prioritise workloads, meet strict deadlines and a relentless drive for continuous improvement
