Enel Green Power entered the Australian market in 2017 as Enel Green Power Australia (EGPA), with the construction of one of Australia’s largest solar plants, Bungala Solar Farm located in South Australia. Our Australian operations now include three solar plants with a consolidated capacity of around 310 megawatts (MW) and 75MW wind farm and 90MW solar farm under construction.

Today, Enel Green Power Australia is a 50/50 joint venture between energy giants, Enel Group and INPEX. The company is targeting a significant increase to its installed capacity across wind, solar, storage and hybrid projects which is expected to accelerate EGPA’s growth in the local market and continue its commitment to driving Australia’s energy transition and achieving the country’s net zero target.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Engagement and Sustainability Officer. The successful candidate will lead local stakeholder and Community Engagement for EGPA’s wind and solar farm projects across Australia and drive the sustainability and innovation agenda across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of stakeholder and Community Engagement strategies, plans and activities across EGPA’s renewable energy projects.
- Development and implementation of community benefit sharing projects and initiatives that maximise the local benefits (social, economic and environmental) of EGPA’s renewable energy projects, tailored to the local context for each project.
- Development and application of EGP sustainability models, including the Creating Shared Value Model (CSV) and monitoring and reporting of the CSV Tools.
- Data collection, analysis and reporting of sustainability performance of renewable energy projects (across development, construction and operational phases).
- Development and implementation of targeted practices and projects to increase the sustainability performance of renewable energy projects (across development, construction and operational phases).
Key Skills
- Ability to manage multiple activities, applying critical path methodology to deliver results within agreed timeframes and budget.
- Strength in negotiating with external stakeholders.
- Understanding of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
- Ability to work independently and within teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Selection Criteria
- Full (unrestricted) car driver’s license.
- Tertiary qualifications (Bachelor level) or certificate or relevant experience in Community Engagement, sustainability/environmental science, or other relevant area.
- Strong relationship management skills and around 5 years working in stakeholder and Community Engagement related role.
- Outstanding teamwork and ability to work collaboratively across multiple disciplines and functions.
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn and operate independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive and enthusiastic nature.
- Experience in the renewable energy sector shall be highly regarded.
- IAP2 certification highly regarded.
This role will require you to travel interstate and to regional areas from time to time, to engage with key project stakeholders.
