Part time role - 2 days per week / 15.2 hours (based on 38 hours per week)
Temporary 6-month job share position
Key implementation role with an exciting environmental change agenda, in a progressive Council
Salary: $97k - $105k + Super (pro-rata)
Ability to transfer or take LSL (Long Service Leave) within Local Government

About the role
The purpose of this role is to deliver Council’s Biodiversity Mowing Trial project, a key action of the Merri-bek Nature Plan. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking for a part time role who has knowledge, expertise and passion in natural resource and conservation management.
The candidate will relish the opportunity to step into a dynamic role, working with an engaged Natural Resource Management team and enjoy working with the Merri-bek community.
The role will provide critical support for Council to deliver on its commitment to create a more diverse, connected and resilient natural environment where indigenous plant and animals thrive in a challenging and changing environment.
The position is a temporary position for 6 months.
Skills and experience require to perform the role
Tertiary qualification in Natural Resource Management, Horticulture, Environmental Planning or related disciplines or other similar field or discipline with some relevant experience, or a lesser formal qualification with substantial relevant experience.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the development and improvement of conservation bush land and revegetation sites, and environmental improvement projects.
Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary biodiversity mowing regimes.
Experience in implementation of nature-based community engagement programs.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with team members, colleagues, volunteers and the community in the delivery of programs and management of others.
Experience in strategic planning and/or policy development and practice in local government or other levels of government is desirable.
A current Victorian Drivers Licence.
