About the role
We are seeking an experienced Building Surveying Practitioner to join our dedicated team as a Coordinator Building Services.
Reporting to the Manager Building Services, the Coordinator Building Services is responsible for coordinating the Building Services team and ensuring compliance of building applications with relevant legislation and statutory requirements.
The Coordinator Building Services will also:
- Coordinate the processing and issuance of building applications within the City.
- Provide mentoring, technical support, and guidance to the Building Services team in their day-to-day operations.
- Negotiate and resolve complex technical issues, including liaising with solicitors on legal matters.
- Provide sound and expert technical and legislative advice to other City staff, management, and members of the public on Building Services matters.
- Assist with strategic projects and planning.
- Review and update Council policies and procedures to ensure best practice and business needs are met.
About the successful candidate
The person we seek will have highly developed interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, a thorough understanding of building legislation, standards, and codes, and proficiency in the National Construction Code for Class 1 to Class 10 buildings.
Other essential requirements include:
- Registration with the WA Building Commission as a Level 1 or 2 Building Surveying Practitioner.
- Well-developed research, analysis and report writing skills.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- A current ‘C’ class Driver’s Licence.
- A Construction Induction “White Card”.
What we offer
This permanent, full-time position offers a salary range of $107,625 - $125,060 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, plus superannuation.
Commute use of council vehicle is available in accordance with relevant City policies and procedures.
