  • $91,002.71 - $97,075.32 gross per annum, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
  • An opportunity exists to negotiate a Workplace Flexibility Arrangement (WFA) to include paid additional hours worked, and a Banked Time allowance of up to 50 hours.
  • This is a Permanent Full time position based in the Toowoomba CBD.
  • Council vehicle available for work use and restricted private use.
About Tourism & EventsThe Tourism & Events team are the creative hub responsible for the promotion of visitation to the Toowoomba Region and the delivery of events, including the iconic Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, which has overall attendance exceeding 400,000, has won awards for the best major event in Australia on multiple occasions, and has been awarded a place in the National Tourism Hall of Fame. You will work across multiple locations throughout the beautiful Toowoomba region, showcasing and promoting the unique opportunities we offer through your involvement with our Visitor Information Centres, tourism industry bodies and your participation in the delivery of a multitude of events. The diversity of this team is demonstrated by the range of events they deliver including the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, Summer Tunes, Christmas in the CBD, Mayoral Carols by Candlelight, Australia Day, Anzac Day and the over 80’s Mayoral Christmas Parties – to name a few. This is an exciting and challenging role for an individual who loves our region and all it has to offer and has a desire to put the Toowoomba Region on the map as a must do tourism destination.About the positionThe Coordinator Events will lead major events and projects on behalf of Council, including the annual Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers and other planned events delivered by the Tourism & Events team.The Coordinator Events will liaise with key internal and external stakeholders, including Council employees, volunteers, contractors, sponsors, vendors, Government agencies, community groups and other event providers in the management and delivery of success events.This position will work under limited direction, with some event budgets in excess of $1,000,000 and event resources in excess of 200 personnel.
