Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, business, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on utility-scale solar and battery projects.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, project development processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and delivering utility-scale solar and battery projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in project management software, financial modelling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Project Deveopment - Lead the development of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects from site identification through to commercial operation
- Stakeholder Management - Cultivate and maintain relationships with landowners, local communities, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to facilitate project development.
Permitting and Regulatory Compliance -
- Navigate the regulatory landscape and secure necessary permits, approvals, and interconnection agreements for project development.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, zoning ordinances, and other permitting requirements
Financial Analysis and Contract Negotiation -
- Conduct financial analysis, including project pro forma, cost-benefit analysis, and financial modelling, to assess project economics.
- Negotiate land leases, power purchase agreements (PPAs) and other contracts
Project Coordination and Oversight -
- Coordinate project activities, including land acquisition, environmental studies, engineering design, and construction, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide oversight and direction to project teams, consultants, and contractors.
