We are looking for a casual Executive Assistant to join our Members' Executive Support team. You will be responsible for providing a range of administrative and secretarial services to the Members of QLD Parliament, such as:
- Typing, reformatting, and editing questions/motions, speeches/speech notes, media releases and correspondence;
- Liaising with Electorate Offices in relation to printing, signing and mailing of correspondence;
- General research work e.g. locating speeches, statements, questions;
- Printing, document scanning and emailing;
- Delivery of messages within the Parliamentary precinct.
You will be required to work during parliamentary sitting weeks for four days, Monday through Thursday. There are approximately 16 sitting weeks per year. The hours of work on a parliamentary sitting day are from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A professional attitude and a high level of confidentiality and discretion;
- Demonstrated intermediate word processing skills and proficiency in using a range of Microsoft Office applications, including using Excel spreadsheets;
- Demonstrated ability to prepare to a professional standard correspondence to Ministers, constituents and organisations from Members' brief instructions;
- Experience working in a small, self-contained office environment;
- A high level of initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision and conflicting priorities to meet deadlines under pressure.
