About the Role:
Caprice Paper Products is a manufacturing company based in Kilsyth Victoria. A market leader within the industry, with 35 years’ experience supplying paper products to a variety of industries Australia wide.
This position reports to the Financial Controller.
This role is to provide Finance and Procurement support to the Financial Controller and the senior management team of Caprice Paper Products Pty Ltd.
Initially this role is backfill a maternity leave position (transition period) but will be an ongoing position after the 12 months. There will be some adjustment to the role after the 12 months, expected to be more finance focused.
Ideally will suit a candidate who is looking to grow and develop with the team and be part of this dynamic business. Working closely with all departments in the organisation including finance, production, sales, customer service, warehouse and executive management.
Key Duties:
Finance Function:
Support the finance function of Caprice and working closely with the Financial Controller to provide timely financial information to the business and senior management.
- Month end and year end processing including Journal entries, accruals etc.
- Monthly general ledger and cost reconciliation of Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.
- Daily Bank reconciliations and cash flow reporting, as per the reporting timetable.
- Credit cards reconciliations with statements and receipts.
- Process and reconcile monthly and quarterly rebates.
- Be able to prepare accounts to a trial balance level, as required.
- Maintain and update the Trust account reconciliations.
- Backup for accounts receivable collection and cash receipts.
- Ad hoc financial analysis as directed by management.
Procurement Function:
Drive and manage the procurement function of Caprice, working closely with the Financial Controller and Production Co-Ordinator to ensure the procurement meets organisational demands.
- Co-Ordination and data input of purchased goods (local and overseas), materials, services and components for the company in a timely manner to ensure we meet customer demands.
- Overseas Purchasing
- Raising POs
- Liaising with suppliers
- Update the purchase order status (ETA updates)
- Processing shipping documents
- Processing stock receipts and allocate inbound charges
- Closing off Pos including updating stock on order reports
- Processing warehouse stock transfers, stock adjustments, stock cycle counts and free on loan adjustments, in a timely manner.
About You:
Demonstrated skills and experience in:
- Proven experience in a financial operations environment (a minimum of 3 year’s experience)
- Good working knowledge of office management and Australian financial and accounting systems and procedures
- Experience in transactional purchasing highly desirable or else a strong desire to learn on the job
- Accurate data entry skills
- Ability to manage and meet reporting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated initiative, critical thinking and problem solving abilities
- Ability to work both autonomously and in a collaborative environment
- Ability to multi-task in a busy manufacturing environment
- Strong ethics, with a proven ability to manage confidential data
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel.
- Experience in using ERP or MRP systems highly desirable
- Highly desirable to be able to speak and read Mandarin (dealing with overseas suppliers)
Diploma or Tertiary qualifications in relevant field such as; Business Administration, Business Management, or Accounting or working towards completion of the mentioned qualifications.
