Six Degrees Executive has partnered with Australia’s leading home care service as they revolutionize the aged care industry and streamline support for our valued elderly members of the community.
In order to take this service and User Experience to the next level, my client is seeking an experienced Full Stack WordPress Developer to join their growing team.
Established 5 years ago and supported by a parent company, this organisation has the tools and resources needed to ensure continued success. To obtain and maintain market share, my client is determined to deliver an enhanced digital look and feel and modernised service offering.

The opportunity
You will be the go-to-person on all-things technology. Whilst you will be supported by senior members of the team and junior Developer, you will be required to work directly with the team to prioritise projects and daily tasks. You will be able to demonstrate how you have you’re your communication skills to prioritise tasks in a team environment.

About the role
To succeed in this role, you must have strong WordPress experience with a reasonable handle on programming in PHP. You will ideally also have intermediate Salesforce experience as this will be utilised in future versions of the website. Most of your client-side development will be writing React/Vue and working with Vuex will be greatly valued.
My client uses the following tech stack so experience in these areas is highly valued:

• WordPress & Plugins
• Browser stack – for cross browser/device testing
• com (for responsiveness testing)
• XAMPP – for local host environment
• VSCODE – IDE for development
• Atlassian products – Bitbucket, confluence and JIRA
• Miro – draw boards
• Photoshop
• Page speed insights/ gtmetrix – for testing performance
• Postman – for testing APIs
• Wappalyzer – technology profiler for websites (chrome extension)

About you

You will be a senior WordPress Full Stack Developer who likes working in a dynamic startup environment. You will be comfortable supporting less experienced Developers and ideally have worked in a similar environment.
The website uses WordPress as a CMS but this is substantially augmented by other modern solutions such as Salesforce. To be considered for this role, the following are required:

• Advance WordPress set up, deployment and use of a continuous testing environment
• React or Vue
• HTML, CSS, Library framework
• Salesforce CRM
• DevOps skills
• Associated documentation
• Disaster Recovery and resilience
• Algolia (preferred)

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and prioritising bug fixes and feature requests with the broader (non-technical) team
• Fixing and deploying bug fixes in WordPress theme
• Building/improving/maintaining Vue applications that augment the website’s functionality
• WordPress administration (syncing prod/staging environments, plugin management, setting up local environments) across a small number of related WordPress instances
• Assessing error notifications, reviewing associated error logs, and deciding on severity of issues
• Maintaining development workflows with the freelance development team (code reviews, documentation and issue references, pull requests are merged when safe)
• Improving our internal documentation
• Reporting milestone progress to the team in regular catch-ups

Required general experience as a Developer:

• Proven ability to report critical issues to the team in a professional manner
• Ability to flag problems in any planned development
• Proven ability to up-skill at pace
• Able to communicate open and honestly
• Ability to juggle and prioritise varying demands from the team
