Reporting to the Group GM Finance based in Sydney, the Group Finance Manager is a critical role supporting delivery of both management and statutory results for the SVHA Group, as well as driving compliance and financial governance across a large and complex health care organisation.
Working closely with the Group Accounting team, Shared Services and Divisional Finance resources located in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, this position will undertake a significant role ensuring key reporting deliverables (both statutory and management) and governance/compliance is delivered.
The Group Finance Manager will be supporting the continued finance optimisation journey to provide accurate and timely financial reports, insightful analysis and the expansion of the financial risk management framework, to drive new ways of working and the use of contemporary tools and technologies including D365, PowerBI and Blackline software.
This is a permanent full-time position with flexibility to work from home and our office based in East Sydney
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Prepare and present end-of-month and year-end results in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Prepare and present management reports, board packs, and performance reports to key stakeholders
- Provide leadership and guidance to divisional finance stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Lead key strategic enhancements to ensure the timely delivery of monthly management and statutory results at a group level
- Preparation of technical financial accounting advice
- Lead the annual audit process, collaborating with external auditors and internal teams
- Support the planning and delivery of re-designing finance processes, with the focus on driving efficiencies, standardisation and improved controls to deliver monthly results to the Finance Leadership Team within agreed timelines
- Work closely with the Finance leadership team to update and publish Procedure documentation
- Work closely with the Data & Analytics team to develop and deliver ongoing reporting requirements across the finance community.
This role will work closely with senior stakeholders across the SVHA business, as well as working with various business and technical subject matter experts across the organisation. The ability to 'flex' to different management styles and influence change will be a critical success factor for this role.

- CA/CPA qualified
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting, showcasing proficiency in leading month-end processes, consolidations, and audits
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations experience preferred,
- Strong written and oral communication skills,
- Ability to work independently, remotely, schedule time efficiently and set priorities,
- Self-starter and ability to cut-through complexity / manage ambiguity / competing demands,
- Ability to solve problems, think creatively and explain complex matters in a simple manner,
- Proactive, with strong relationship-building, negotiation and influencing skills.
