Role Overview: Axiom Group is seeking a hungry, visionary and results-driven Head of Sales & Marketing to pioneer this critical role, tasked with managing the sales team and implementing strategies to achieve the board's goals of significant EBITDA growth. This role will involve identifying and capitalizing on new routes to market, particularly through direct engagement with large builders, while ensuring the attainment of gross profit (GP) and revenue targets.

 The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the current sales structure, instituting transformative changes, and implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) for all sales staff. 

Reporting to the Sales Director, this role requires extensive experience in the Australian construction industry and a proven track record of driving business growth from good to great.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the sales team, providing clear direction, guidance, and accountability to achieve sales targets and EBITDA growth objectives.
  • Develop and execute innovative SALES AND MARKETING strategies aligned with the board's objectives, focusing on new routes to market and direct engagement with large builders.
  • Assess the current sales structure, processes, and systems, and implement necessary changes to optimize efficiency, productivity, and performance.
  • Define clear KPIs for the sales team and hold individuals accountable for their targets, conducting frank and uncomfortable conversations with nonperforming staff as needed.
  • Review and revamp current marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility, market positioning, and lead generation efforts.
  • Take final responsibility for the revenue of the business, ensuring that GP and revenue targets are met consistently.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders to drive business development opportunities and foster long-term growth.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform strategic decision-making and maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in the Australian construction industry, with a deep understanding of market dynamics, trends, and customer requirements.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful SALES AND MARKETING strategies that have driven significant business growth and EBITDA improvement.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and hold sales teams accountable for performance targets.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate and resolve challenging situations effectively.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; additional qualifications in sales management or relevant certifications would be advantageous.

Reporting Structure: The Head of Sales & Marketing will report directly to the Sales Director, providing regular updates on sales performance, market insights, and strategic initiatives.
