The Opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager, this role will suit a motivated and experienced HR Officer who is able to work independently and has a passion for all things HR.
Responsibilities
- Provide HR operational guidance, coaching and support to Management
- Implement and maintain Employee Engagement initiatives
- Interpret and apply Employee Legislation, as well as Awards, namely Building & Construction, Manufacturing & Assoc., and Clerks.
- Apply Work Health and Safety standards, including Risk assessment and site inspections, managing Work Cover claims, and return to work plans and activities.
- Process weekly pay-run using Xero
- Manage the Employee Lifecycle, from recruitment through to onboarding, training/development, performance management, and offboarding
- Provide support in the management and resolution of workplace and disciplinary issues.
- Create and Administer HR Governance documentation in line with ER, IR and HR best practice, such as Contracts, Job descriptions, Policies and Procedures, Forms etc
- Maintain employee records in line with confidentiality and privacy legislation
- Provide HR reporting and data analysis as required
- Provide general administrative support for the delivery of annual and ad-hoc programs and projects
Key Selection Criteria
Experience in a Human Resources capacity, in the Building & Construction industry (or similar industry)
Interpreting and applying Employment Laws and Regulations, such as Awards, Work Health and Safety
Payroll using XERO, and providing reports
Ability to organise, and meet deadlines
Ability to develop strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to lead by example and model the organisations values through your own behaviour, making a positive contribution to workplace culture
