Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and assess risks. Implement measures to mitigate identified risks.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for all employees. This includes training on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency procedures, and safe work practices.
- Implement health and safety policies in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Regularly review and update these policies as necessary.
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents to identify their causes and prevent future occurrences. Prepare reports detailing these investigations.
- Ensure that all operations comply with relevant health and safety regulations. Stay updated on changes to these regulations and adjust company policies accordingly.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans. Conduct drills to ensure that all employees are familiar with these plans.
- Regularly inspect tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition and safe to use.
- Prepare and present regular reports on the company’s health and safety performance to senior management.
- Provide advice to project managers and subcontractors on safety matters. This includes advice on safe work practices, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance.
- Continually seek ways to improve the company’s health and safety performance. This may involve researching new safety practices, technologies, or equipment.
Requirements
- To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous construction experience is preferred, however not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft suite
- Ability to work in a team environment and have initiative when working independently.
- A down to earth, fun, friendly and professional approach to your work
- White Card (or be willing to obtain prior to starting)
