Reporting to the Registrar, the key duties and responsibilities of the Human Resources Officer are:
- Provide an internal Human Resource consultation service to line management staff, ensuring day to day needs are met for a broad range of HR services and advice.
- Manage and coordinate changes to Human Resource systems, policies and practices, and guidelines ensuring understanding and management of risk and impact, and effectively engaging stakeholders.
- Provide confidential consultation, support and advice to managers and staff in the development and implementation of workforce support and strategy initiatives and programs.
- Manage the recruitment and retention activities to ensure the staffing needs of the Board are met.
- Oversee the provision of general Human Resource administrative support.
- Ensure alignment and compliance with the Public Sector Act 2022 and the legislative requirements, policies and directives.
- Develop and maintain Human Resource plans aimed at delivering a broad range of services across the Board, ensuring alignment with the Board's Strategic Plan.
- Build Human Resource capability in the Board through implementing and coordinating key initiatives and supporting managers to deliver outcomes associated with these initiatives.
- Actively participate in and contribute to the strategic activities of the Board, including the implementation of the Human Resource Strategy, Psychosocial Hazard Management and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Plan.
- Lead employee engagement and development initiatives in the areas of: employee wellbeing, reward and recognition, learning and development and succession planning.
- Review and analyse HR reporting through a monthly HR Dashboard and provide recommendations to senior management.
- Foster constructive relationships with the broader team and contribute to drive and maintain a positive and productive workplace culture that focuses on ethics and accountability, values diversity and shares knowledge and experience.
