We are looking for a driven and knowledgeable Junior Sous Chef to join the team at InterContinental Sydney Double Bay. You will work closely with the Executive Chef in running of the kitchen. Specifically have control over our Grill section.
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
- Running the ala carte section of the kitchen
- Planning menus
- Ordering and preparing supplies
- Train staff at lower levels, coach, and guide employees to perform kitchen operations
- Handle and follow up on all incidents immediately, and report accurately
What We need from you:
- 2-3 years' experience in a similar role - Grill preferred.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, and can hold their own in a busy service whilst staying professional and guiding junior staff
- Good communication, organisation, and technical skills
- Confident to be a leader in the kitchen, adapt to situations and work across any section when required
- Be creative and have a passion for good food
