The Trials Procurement Officer (APS 3) supports the trials procurement and acquisition activities in the Joint Proof and Experimental Unit. They will work within a team of finance and procurement professionals. The team has a dynamic workload spread across a range of responsibilities including purchasing, tender development and assessment and finance reports.
About our Team
The Finance Team supports all operational activities across the three test Units as they conduct guided weapon and explosive ordnance test and evaluation activities. A significant part of the role will be working with the Personnel, Capability and Logistics teams to provide short/medium term test and evaluation resources for the organisation.
This is a significant undertaking that requires detailed planning and continuous review.

JPEU is looking for an agile and enthusiastic individual who possesses strong procurement and communication skills and a commitment to achieving organisational goals and objectives. Importantly, they will have the ability to develop good relationships and support networks across a wide array of stakeholders. They will be an excellent communicator and be able to influence outcomes over directing actions.
Our ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in finance and procurement management including tender development and contract management. This includes the development of finance and procurement documentation to support test outcomes. An understanding of Lean / Continuous Improvement methodologies would be advantageous.
The successful candidate takes the initiative to achieve quality finance outcomes. They will be dynamic and keen to continuously improve systems and processes in an effort to ensure that lean methodologies are used by the team and organisation. The successful candidate will be proficient in the use a wide range of tools to aid in carrying out their work such as Microsoft Office tools, modelling applications and other IT systems.
