Job description

An opportunity has become available for a Legal Secretary/Administration Assistant to join our approachable team. Reporting to the Legal Practice Director, the successful applicant will assist four lawyers across Commercial Law, Wills and Estate matters. This position will suit someone looking for new challenges and a positive law firm culture.

The Applicant and Experience 

  • Possess previous secretarial and administration experience in a law firm (preferred)
  • Be highly organised with great attention to detail.
  • Have a friendly, pleasant nature and be willing to work in a small team where we support each other.
  • Have an ability to meet time critical deadlines.
  • Be willing to learn and adapt and contribute suggestions for improving processes.
  • Have strong communication skills in both written and verbal form.
  • Demonstrate their ability to work autonomously, and as part of a team
  • Have a fast and accurate typing speed.
  • Have an advanced understanding of Microsoft office and be willing to learn to use our other platforms.
  • Experience with trust accounting is advantageous. 

The Role

The position involves a variety of office support tasks including:

  • Drafting documents and letters for client matters, including Costs Agreements.
  • Administrative management of files including invoicing, receipting, opening and archiving files.
  • Handling Safe Custody of the firm.
  • Handling initial enquiries from potential new clients.
  • Client liaison and assisting with client meetings.
  • Managing diaries and scheduling appointments.

Salary

Salary is highly competitive to market or above.
