The Opportunity
Based in our Stapylton production facility we are seeking to appoint a Development Manager who will lead a multidisciplinary team for the development, design, and implementation of machinery within our organisation.
Operating within a matrix-style arrangement, you will collaborate closely with various functional teams, and both internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with our organisational goals.
You will be responsible for guiding the team through the entire Machinery Development process, from initial concept to final implementation, while ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. Key Selection Criteria
This dynamic position requires a leader with a deep understanding of engineering principles, strong project management skills, effective communication, and a fervent commitment to innovation.
Prerequisite:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field. An Advanced degree is preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in project management within the Machinery Development or related industry, demonstrating a strong track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Project management certification, such as PMP is highly desirable.
- Expertise in product development tools and methodologies, such as Rapid Learning Cycles, and Design Thinking.
- Proven capacity to effectively prioritise tasks and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organisation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Proficiency in using productivity software and tools, such as Microsoft Office suite, and database systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate challenges and implement innovative solutions to achieve project objectives.
