St Mark's employs more than 230 full and part-time teachers, supported by education assistants, music tutors and administrative, grounds and maintenance staff. Teaching staff salaries are paid under the Anglican Schools Commission Incorporated Western Australian Agreement 2019, as approved by the FairWork Commission, in accordance with training and experience. Non-teaching staff are employed under appropriate Award conditions to which over Award payments are applied.
About the Role
St Mark's is seeking a Maintenance Officer who will be responsible for ensuring the buildings and facilities at St Mark’s are well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out the following tasks as directed;
Diagnose and complete day to day repairs, including;
- Minor plumbing, fixing leaks and removing blockages
- Mechanical/equipment failures
- Paving
- Graffiti removal
- Minor painting
- Roof plumbing
- Replacing light globes
- Assemble and install new equipment
- Fabricate classroom and other school fittings, including welding and cabinetwork
- Carry out preventative maintenance
- Proactively identify and resolve safety hazards
- Liaise with teaching and other staff
- General labour, including lifting
- Carry out other tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor or Facilities Manager
Skills and Qualifications
- Carpentry qualification or equivalent would be beneficial
- Working at heights certificate is desirable
- Previous experience in completing varied tasks including performing physical work
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current National Police Clearance
- Experience working in a school would be an advantage

This is a full time position from Monday to Friday (38 hour week). This role is required during term time and school holidays and the applicant is entitled to four weeks annual leave per year.
