The following minimum competencies are considered necessary to learn and perform the duties of Medical Receptionist.
- Skills and experience in client services, management of diaries, with a focus on clients either directly or via the phone
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Windows products including at least three of the following: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Skilled in Pracsoft and Medical Director
- The ability to use initiative and work under minimal supervision
- Good communication skills, good interpersonal skills, good presentation
- Good organisational and task management skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and report to the Operations Manager
- Demonstrate a high level of self-management
- Able to provide and share relevant information with colleagues and foster support
- Participate and contribute to regular team and staff meetings
- Take initiative to undertake other duties as requested by the CEO or his delegate
- Cert IV in AOD, Mental Health or Community Services or willing to obtain
