AddressWe are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our team at the desk of Dr Merv Ferdinands at the Geelong Eye Centre, Epworth Geelong, on a casual basis, with the possibility of transitioning to a longer-term position. We are initially looking to fill a 2-3 day a week role whilst team members take leave; but for suitable candidates there will be an opportunity to continue this role on an ongoing basis. This role is ideal for individuals looking to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced ophthalmology practice and grow professionally within our clinic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting patients and visitors with professionalism and warmth
- Managing phone calls (including basic triage), appointments, and patient enquiries efficiently
- Maintaining accurate patient contact details and ensuring confidentiality
- Collaborating with our doctor and orthoptists to support clinic operations
- Liaising with Epworth Theatres to ensure smooth running of operating lists
- Processing billing and payments including MBS claiming
- General administrative duties such as email, fax, incoming referrals
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a receptionist role in a healthcare setting
- Previous use of Medical Software system (preferably Genie) and strong computer literacy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
- Proficiency in dictation typing
- Strong arithmetic skills and confidence with daily banking and reconciliation
