Prahran Market Clinic is a well-established practice looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our team. Prahran Market Clinic is a large multi-disciplinary clinic with a strong LBGTQI focus and interest in sexual health. We are a clinic that has a strong affiliation with research projects both across the country and internationally, we also encourage our nursing staff to attend educational conferences and opportunities to widen their scope of practice. We currently have 13 GPs, 2 nurses and 4 allied health professionals and take pride in our multidisciplinary approach to patient-centered care.
About the role
Prahran Market clinic is looking for a Medical Receptionist to work alongside our current receptionists, on a permanent part-time or casual basis approximately 15 to 20 hours per week. We understand that we all have commitments outside of work and we are happy to negotiate your daily hours and working days.

Skills and knowledge
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Ability to prioritise and multitask
- Friendly, nonjudgmental, and positive attitude
- 2+ years’ experience working in general practice/primary health care desirable but not essential
Main duties and responsibilities
- Supporting our patients with enquiries
- Answering phone calls
- Providing administration to support to doctors, nurses allied health practitioners and Practice Manager
- Booking patient appointments
- Taking payments from patients
- Administration tasks, scanning, filing
- Maintaining a presentable work area and waiting room
