We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our team in Yarra Glen. The primary purpose of this position is to contribute to ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our administration and provide an exceptional standard of care to our patients.
As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming and efficient environment for our patients and healthcare professionals.
Key responsibilities:
- Answering the phone in a courteous and professional manner.
- Receiving and conveying messages in writing, verbally, and electronically.
- Liaising with patients and their families in a compassionate manner.
- Liaising with GPs, other health professionals, and their staff.
- Making appointments.
- Scanning and filing documents.
- Preparing documents for mail out.
- Monitoring stationery and/or clinical supplies.
- Contributing to maintaining the cleanliness of the practice.
- Handling cash, EFTPOS, and other payments while adhering to the practice billing policy.
- Performing other administrative duties as directed by the Practice Manager.
Selection Criteria:
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Strong computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The ability to work independently, show initiative, and work productively within a team environment.
- CPR training undertaken within the past three years or willingness to participate in CPR training.
- A current criminal record screening.
- A current Working with Children Check.
- Work rights in Australia.
This position requires an average of 38 hours per week, and weekends on a rotating basis. Reasonable additional hours (including working outside of business hours) may also be required from time to time.
