Medical Receptionist

Medical Receptionist – permanent part time. 

We have an opportunity for an experienced Medical Receptionist /secretary to join our busy, established practice in Mitcham, VIC3132. You will be working with a friendly team. 

Responsibilities

• Front desk reception greeting patients
• Scheduling and managing appointments
• Answering telephone calls and enquiries
• Creating and maintaining patient records
• Taking messages and conveying information accurately and timely
• Mailing, faxing, and filing
• Private patient billing/payments using EFTPOS
• Medicare, DVA and Work Cover claims
• Liaising with third-party providers on behalf of the Drs
• Balance daily receipts and cash
• Opening and closing of the practice
• General administrative duties as required

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in a medical reception or admin role is essential
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Professional telephone manner with clear verbal skills
• High standard of personal integrity to maintain patient/doctor confidentiality
• Basic IT knowledge and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multi-task and priorities in a busy team environment
• Ability to work autonomously without direct supervision
• Flexible availability for sick / leave cover
• Experience with “ZedMed” preferred but not essential.
