Job description

Medical receptionist required for busy, long established general practice in West Brunswick.   We are looking for a friendly, motivated and reliable person to work along side our existing team to provide a high level of customer service to our patients

We are located close to public transport and car parking is available.

Ideally like someone to start ASAP and be flexible to cover for annual and sick leave

Details of the job include:   

  • Answer the telephones in a courteous and professional manner
  • Receive and convey messages clearly in verbally and electronically
  • Opening and closing of clinic
  • Liaise with doctors, staff, patients, health professionals and suppliers
  • Arrange, cancel confirm and reschedule appointments as required
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the practice
  • Knowledge of Best Practice medical package
  • Handling of cash, EFTPOS and other payments
  • Process Medicare bulk-bill, TAC and Work Cover accounts
  • Undertake banking procedures
  • Batching and transmitting Medicare and Department of Veteran Affairs claims online
  • Admin duties 

Must have previous experience in general practice, although training can be given to the right candidate

Have a good level of computer literacy 

Be empathetic and enjoy working with people 

Approximately 20 – 25 hours per week between the hours of 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
