National Business Development Manager

About the Role
We've partnered with a market leader in the general merchandise and consumer products industry to find a National Business Development Manager to join their growing sales team in Melbourne. As the National Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's growth trajectory.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will be responsible for driving our client's Business Development initiatives on a national scale, with a primary focus on expanding key retail and major grocery accounts, forging strategic partnerships, and maximising revenue opportunities. Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive Business Development strategies to build relationships with key retail and major grocery customers.
Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through leveraging existing/previous retail or major grocery relationships, market research, networking, and relationship building.
Collaborate with other key members of the sales team and other departments within the company to develop sales strategies and achieve sales goals.
Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers from an established portfolio of accounts.
Prepare and present reports on sales performance, pipeline development, and market insights to senior management including the CEO and National Sales Manager..
About You
Proven track record of success and experience in B2B sales, Business Development or account management roles within general merchandise, consumer products or FMCG.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high attention to detail.
Previous Business Development or account management experience selling into Coles, Woolworths, Aldi or Costco is highly regarded.
Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce or a related field is desirable.
