About the Role;
  
Our client is a highly successful local business working in the construction and building industry.  Due to continued growth and success, they now have an exciting and newly created opportunity for a dynamic, self-motivated National Sales Manager, who has demonstrated leadership ability and proven sales success. 

This is an exciting and challenging role, which will see you strategically involved in the growth of the business through building and nurturing relationships with both new and existing clients and distributors nationally.  Leading an existing team, you will drive performance to ensure that the National Sales operations are both efficient and profitable and oversee the effectiveness and efficiency of their growing sales team.

Duties:

  • Drive team performance through mentoring, coaching and strong leadership
  • Negotiate and close agreements with large customers
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts
  • Perform research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities
  • Keep abreast of new product launches and ensure sales team members are on board
  • Maintain responsibility for performance of all sales activities within each assigned territory
  • Recruit, train, and motivate the Sales team toward hitting specified sales goals & KPI’s
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews with all team members
  • Lead by example, using the established sales processes, and close a high percentage of the leads you and your team generate
  • Continually analyze the sales process in an effort to refine and improve its success, and work with upper management to establish sales reporting framework
  • Regular Interstate travel to meet with key accounts and distributors

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous working experience as a National Sales Manager
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications desirable, but not essential
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing a high performance sales team
  • Hands on experience with CRM software
  • Applicable experience of sales performance metrics, with a composite background in marketing and digital media platforms
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Customer oriented with strong negotiation skills
  • Analytical and data driven problem solver
  • 5 + years of sales experience in construction and/or building materials
  • 4 + years of team management experience
  • Strong track record of accomplishments and promotions in the Sales field
  • Highly personable, with the ability to quickly build relationships
  • Sound understanding of the Construction Sector, Legal Compliance and Codes of Practice
