Lungscreen Australia is establishing a ground-breaking Lung Nodule Clinic designed to enhance clinical outcomes for patients diagnosed with or having known Lung Nodules. The clinic aims to improve efficiency and reduce the burden on healthcare facilities, addressing the common issue of these patients falling through the cracks and missing crucial follow-up examinations or procedures, often leading to unfavourable outcomes.
Lungscreen Australia’s Lung Nodule clinic will be a specialised medical facility based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, that focuses on evaluating, diagnosing, and managing Lung Nodules. The clinic's purpose is to provide comprehensive, personalised care for individuals who have been identified as having Lung Nodules, whether through routine imaging studies or other diagnostic methods.
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate nurse to join our team in the crucial role of Lung Nodule Management.
Position Overview:
As a Nurse Navigator of the Lung Nodule Clinic, you will be essential in providing comprehensive care to individuals with identified Lung Nodules. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will coordinate and facilitate the assessment, monitoring, and management of patients throughout their journey.
As part of our commitment to excellence, Lungscreen Australia provides comprehensive on-the-job training in lung health and Lung Nodule Management. You will be able to deepen your understanding of respiratory conditions, diagnostic procedures, and evidence-based interventions. Through mentorship and hands-on experience, you will develop the expertise to deliver high-quality care to patients with Lung Nodules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment and Education:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients with Lung Nodules in person and remotely.
- Educate patients on the nature of their condition, potential treatment options, and the importance of follow-up care.
- Collaborative Care:
- Work closely with General Practitioners, respiratory physicians, Oncologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualised care plans.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary team meetings. Document and facilitate findings and recommendations for patients.
- Monitoring and Follow-up:
- Implement and oversee surveillance programs for patients with identified Lung Nodules.
- Monitor patients' progress and promptly address any changes or concerns.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Generate reports for internal and external stakeholders to ensure comprehensive documentation and compliance.
- Patient Advocacy:
- Advocate for patients' needs and ensure they receive timely and appropriate care.
- Foster a supportive and empathetic environment for patients and their families.
The successful candidate for the Nurse Navigator position will receive extensive and comprehensive training on our dedicated Lung Nodule Management Software (SW). We are committed to ensuring that our team members have the knowledge and skills to provide industry-leading care and support to patients throughout their Nodule Management journey.

Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse: Hold and maintain AHPRA registration.
- Minimum three years of experience in nursing, preferably in respiratory care or oncology.
- Certification in Oncology Nursing or relevant specialty is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Before commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
