The Role
The APS 5 Office Manager will work within the Business Management Unit (BMU) Team and is responsible to the Business Governance and Assurance Manager for the management and delivery of Cargo Helicopter and Uncrewed Surveillance Program Office (CHUSPO) workforce, management of on-boarding and separation processes, financial management, data and information coordinator support, and manage administrative support to CHUSPO.
This position is required to:
- Perform moderately complex activities; problem solving and associated tasks working to agreed priorities and outcomes.
- Assess reports, processes and conformance to meet specified requirements, and provide recommendations for consideration.
- The work is office based, with irregular stakeholder engagements (on and off site), the role is part of the business services delivered to the Program Office.
The successful candidate to work within a framework of legislation, Commonwealth polices, work practices and procedures in accordance with Defence’s mission and business objectives. This role is a supervisory position within a small business and administrative team providing services for the Program Office and be accountable to set work priorities, allocate work, and manage workflows and performance.
As a member of the BMU team, you will engage with both internal and external stakeholders, have an opportunity to develop and maintain knowledge of relevant procedures and corporate systems and then apply your knowledge and experience. The role is highly varied and requires knowledge in numerous areas such as IT systems, simple procurement, administration, policy, governance and assurance. Tasks may include the management and supervision of travel arrangements, financial spend acquittal, correspondence record keeping, recruitment and workforce facilitation. You will be required to identify/define issues; report on non-conformances; and deliver findings through report writing and documentation.
About our Team
The Business Management Unit is responsible for the delivery of Corporate Services and in conjunction with Branch, People and Workforce Management functions across the Program Office. We are accountable for the delivery of, and coordination of corporate support services across our multiple work locations.
Corporate Services performed by the BMU comprise Logistics Governance and Assurance, and Business Governance and Assurance (which is further broken down into the areas of Information and Records Management, internal Financial Management, Workforce Management, Security, WHS & Risk Management).
