Join a Council on Melbourne's City Fringe as an OHS Support Officer on a 3-month temporary contract, where you'll play a crucial role in supporting our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of OHS policies and procedures.
- Conducting regular safety inspections and risk assessments, identifying hazards and recommending solutions.
- Collaborating with various departments to ensure OHS compliance and providing guidance on safe work practices.
- Assisting with incident investigations and preparing reports.
- Conducting safety training and awareness programs for employees.
- Keeping up-to-date with relevant OHS legislation and regulations.
- Assisting in the development of emergency response and evacuation plans.
- Supporting OHS initiatives and projects as directed.
- A relevant qualification in OHS or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OHS legislation, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Prior experience in a similar OHS support role is advantageous.
