Northmead Before and After School Care (NOOSH) is a not-for-profit community based centre providing out of school hours programs for students of Northmead Public School. Our Service runs vacation care (NSW school holidays), before school care (7:00am-9:00am) & after school care (3:00pm -6:00pm).
NOOSH is a children’s place to play and learn in an environment that values a healthy lifestyle, community involvement and diversity. It's a place for creating childhood memories; having fun, making friends, being active and having timeout from a busy day. We are seeking someone passionate about working with children and eager to bring forth innovative ideas for the children and our families.
The role:
- You will work alongside the Director and Educational Leader to develop, plan and implement an innovative, stimulating and high quality program for children aged 5-12 years.
- This is a part time position with a minimum of 33 hours per week working shifts across before & after school care, Monday - Friday and with the possibility for working hours during vacation care
- Additional hours may be offered to support programs & compliance.
- For the right candidate, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated within the capacity of regulatory requirements and service needs
- You will be required to step into the role of Responsible Person in the absence of the Nominated Supervisor
- Pay rates are above award
The successful candidate will:

- hold the skills necessary for developing respectful and responsive relationships with children, facilitating their sense of belonging, desire to learn and fully engage in the NOOSH program
- have a strong commitment to inclusion, promoting diversity and supporting individual children with a variety of additional needs
- show excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage meaningfully with families, children and team members.
- work collaboratively, take initiative and think critically, building professional relationships with colleagues that create a smooth running and stimulating program
- have a love of learning and be committed to enhancing your skills and knowledge on the job and by participation in professional development opportunities that support best practice in OSHC.
- to show dedication to child safety and well-being, maintaining a Child Safe environment including responding to child protection concerns.
Desirable
- Experience working with 5- to 12-year-olds in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting, school environment or similar
- Experience as a Responsible Person or leadership role in an Education and Care setting
- Cert IV, Cert III or Diploma in OOSH, Education Support or early childhood (or working towards)
Essential Criteria:
- Valid NSW Working with Children Check
- Current Accredited First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Accredited Emergency Asthma Management Training (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Accredited Anaphylaxis Management Training(or willingness to obtain).
- Child Protection Qualification (or willingness to obtain).
- Understanding of the National Quality Framework and ‘My Time Our Place’ Framework.
