Our client, a longstanding mutual financial institution, is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join their team.
The Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the payroll process. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Sage Micropay and advanced Excel skills. This is a standalone role, so the successful candidate must be able to work independently and manage all payroll-related tasks efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll on a bi-weekly/monthly basis
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Process payroll adjustments, deductions, and other changes as needed
- Prepare and submit payroll reports to management as required using Excel
- Address employee inquiries and resolve payroll-related issues in a timely manner
- Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll legislation and ensure compliance
- Work closely with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll processes
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an end to end payroll position
- Proficiency in Sage Micropay is essential
- Advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, macros and complex formulas)
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
