Reporting to the Assistant Accountant, the Payroll Officer provides quality, timely and accurate payroll services as part of the Harmony SE Asia Finance Department. You will play a pivotal role in processing payroll, resolving payroll-related queries, and providing advice to our workforce.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Monthly / fortnightly receipt of timesheets and expense claims for inclusion in payroll and payroll processing.
- Run monthly superannuation reports, reconcile and prepare monthly payment.
- Perform payroll maintenance ensuring data integrity.
- File all relevant employee/ payroll documentation electronically in payroll files.
- Enter details of new appointments and changes to masterfile data as requested by the Assistant Accountant with the required documentation.
- Preparation of EFT and manual payments to employees.
- Distribute payslips within 24 hours of the payrun.
- Assist internal and external auditors when required.
- Perform other duties as required by the Assistant Accountant.
To succeed in this role, you should be self-motivated and able to work efficiently and collaboratively with:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in similar position in Australian payroll.
- Competency using computerised accounting systems, preferably Pronto.
- Intermediate level of skill using Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
- Papua New Guinea payroll experience is advantageous.
- Foundations of Payroll Practice (desirable).
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible working practises (3 days in the office, 2 days WFH)
