Our client is a national leader in providing commercial air conditioning solutions based in the Southeast. They are seeking a dedicated Payroll Officer to join their team in a full-time office role. As Payroll Officer you will be responsible for efficiently managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with relevant agreements, and providing exceptional support to employees and management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process end-to-end payroll efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant agreements.
- Interpretation and compliance with relevant enterprise bargaining agreements.
- Address payroll queries from managers and staff regarding entitlements and policies.
- Prepare and submit necessary returns and reports.
- Manage leave entitlements and payments.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in timesheets and payroll records.
- Ensure confidentiality of employee pay records.
- Assist with termination payments, redundancies, and special payments.
- Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile accounts.
- Provide expertise on payroll administration and compliance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within payroll processes.
- Perform any other duties as required by the finance manager.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an end-to-end Payroll role.
- Demonstrated understanding of EBA’s.
- Experience in the construction industry highly regarded.
- Strong mathematical skills with an ability to spot numerical errors.
- Advanced computer skills, especially in Excel.
- Great attention to detail and accuracy.
- Deadline-focused and ability to work under pressure.
- Familiarity with benefits and wage deductions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective time management skills.
- Willingness and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Experience with Pronto highly regarded.
- Salary circa $100k - $120k plus super
- Southeast office location
