ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of the Second Line Risk Assurance Program using a risk-based approach and in line with the Origin's Risk Management processes . This will include supporting the planning, execution and reporting of assurance activities, as well as owning and continuously improving assurance methodologies and tools.
You will build Risk Assurance capability and influences a risk culture, through providing training and coaching to risk and control owners about self-verification practices, to enable the delivery of effective risk management at Origin.
More about the role:
- Support the consolidation of the second line Assurance Program, with the direction of the Head of Aligned Assurance and in consultation with management and relevant stakeholders.
- Execute concurrent assurance activities in line with defined Assurance Program and assurance processes. Including working with co-source providers.
- Perform risk-based testing to accurately identify control gaps and inefficiencies, and appropriately describing the risk, root cause and consequence.
- Prepare concise, insightful and value adding assurance reports/summaries, and provide advice to key stakeholders in formulating appropriate corrective actions.
- Provide insightful observations to improve the risk and control environment including recommending fit for purpose actions which systemically and sustainably address control deficiencies and manage risks within appetite.
- Monitor assurance outcomes and corrective actions through to completion.
- Take ownership of the assurance methodology and continuously improve it to fit the business needs in line with the Aligned Assurance Model objectives.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role you will come with demonstratable experience in risk management or assurance, with delivering Risk Assurance outcomes, having worked in similar size organisations in manufacturing, Telco, Energy or Consultancy services.
You will have proven ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders to implement change and are effective at building strong relationships. You will show a collaborative approach and partner effectively with all areas of the business. You will have a continuous improvement mindset and a practical approach to problem solving. Strong communication skills and ability to relay complex information in a clear and simple manner are essential.
More about you:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Engineering (or similar).
- Relevant professional certification preferred e.g., Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Chartered Accountants (CA) or Certified Public Accountants (CPA).
- Understanding of risk management, including identification, assessment and treatment and relevant risk management standards (e.g. ISO31000).
- Demonstrated experience in project management skills to oversee concurrent projects.
- Ability to assess effectiveness and efficacy of a risk control environment and identify control gaps and recommend appropriate controls.
