Product Manager

We are searching for a highly motivated individual to join our team as Product Manager – Large Track Type Tractors (Dozers). This is a permanent, full-time role based out of our Head Office in Archerfield.

The successful candidate will provide specialised large dozer product knowledge, application and technical sales advice for the sale of new equipment including Technology solutions for dozing in the Resource Industry sector.

The role includes effective New Product Implementation (NPI) management, advice on the optimum model configuration and attachments for customer applications, the integration of semi-autonomy technology for dozing, maintenance of base machine configurations for the Sales Team, equipment application analysis, market competitive intelligence, machine model parts planning and solutions that contributes to the delivery of exceptional Customer Value, Lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and alignment to customer ESG requirements.

Reporting to the Product Strategy Manager, you will be: 

• Accountable for overall Product Management of Large Dozer equipment from New Product Introduction (NPI), Machine Rebuild and replacement strategies.
• Lead regular product focused meetings with internal stakeholders and Caterpillar to optimise the productivity, performance and safety of products to meet customer’s evolving needs.
• Develop and execute Product Plans to support sales targets other critical product deliverables.
• Input to the development of sales tenders and quotations, machine selection, configuration and technical specification
• Promote semi-autonomous technology solutions for dozing with customers to maximize utilization and performance
• With the support of Marketing peers, contribute to product marketing strategies to promote Cat Large dozers online and on social media
• Assist in the provision of expert production studies on customer sites and providing recommendations on productivity solutions

About You

You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or similar
• Mining application experience/ mining operational knowledge is desired
• Experience in establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with Customers, Suppliers and Industry Bodies
• Experience working within similar industry across multi geographical zones
• Understanding of machine remote technology solutions
• Experience with leading and working within a team environment aimed at achieving shared goals and objectives
• Membership of Industry networks, bodies or affiliations would be considered advantageous
• Ability to travel domestically for work purposes
