Join a successful well-established and expanding national Australian Manufacturing Company who design, manufacture, and supply a range of quality innovative, decorative, products in the kitchen, laundry, bathroom ware / plumbing sector. The Company operate multiple Showroom and Distribution Centres around Australia to highlight their product ranging, elevate their Brand and positioning, and ensure the provision of exceptional customer service, delivery & support. Reporting to a Company Director, your role as National Product Manager will be to drive product development from concept to market launch, ensuring the company’s product offerings remain competitive and meet the evolving needs of their customers. This is a crucial commercial role in the business, focusing on customer needs, market opportunities - ensuring the right product offering - and supporting the company’s overall sales, marketing strategy and company direction.
This will involve:
- analysis and market research (leveraging market data, researching of consumer insights, working closely with the National Sales Manager [and team],
- identifying market opportunities for product innovation and / or enhancements
- developing and managing the company’s portfolio of products and their various product lifecycles to ensure that each stage is executed efficiently and profitably. This includes determining the long-term strategy of product categories, ensuring designs, features, specifications, compliance - working closely with Sales and Operations.
- Assisting in determining product margin & pricing (retail, wholesale), product and marketing strategies (growth and market penetration, ‘birth and death’ of products) to drive demand and ultimately sales.
- Working closely with the Suppliers and Manufacturers (Australia and Overseas)
- Assisting in developing marketing and sales communication tools / formats (ie technical product information, catalogues, sales & marketing programs, promotions / campaigns, launches and initiatives, social media and content programs / CRM data usage etc),
- Tracking, measuring, and reporting of results.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications (ie Marketing, Business, Industrial Design, Engineering),
- 10 years’ experience in “hands on” Product Management (end to end)
- Building products (Decorative Products - Tiling, Paint, Decorative Board products, Plumbing, Hardware), Electrical (Lighting), Engineering Or industrial products background - and built significantly on brand/s, and multiple product portfolio’s through multiple channels.
- Experience gained working with a Wholesaler or Manufacturer as our client seeks product lifecycle management experience.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), relationship building, interpersonal and presentation skills (including reporting), and leading cross functional teams.
- Strong analysis and strategic capability, data driven decision making through detailed Research and competitive analysis
- Strong IT skills (ERP, CRM, Excel and reporting, specialist research, marketing IT programs and platforms),
- Strong planning and project management skills,
- Strong business / commercial acumen
- highly motivated and self-directed, customer service oriented, and a true team player.
