About this opportunity
We have a vacancy for a Program Manager, Ticketing System on a 24 month Fixed Term Contract. Reporting to the Program Director Network Projects this role involves:
- Managing a program of work to facilitate the design and installation roll out of the new Ticketing System on Trams. This will include the technical aspects of engineering change and Notification of change, physical installation onto the fleet, through to consultation with staff and the associated training required to implement the change.
- Offering excellence in project leadership, continuously building the capability of the team, and demonstrating Yarra Trams' values, including Zero Harm; and
- Working collaboratively across YT business units and with Department of Transport (DOT), delivering within the Yarra Trams Project Management System and the Franchise Agreement with Department of Transport (DOT).
About you
Ideally you will have:
- Degree in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with admittance to Institute of Engineers Australia, or in Project Management with accreditation from Australian Institute of Project Management
- High level of project management knowledge, with a demonstrated track record of effective and efficient project delivery using best practice project management methodologies. An accredited member of the AIPM or equivalent.
- Experience in a senior management position.
- Significant knowledge and understanding of OHS&E legislative requirements and individual duty of care, and of discrimination, harassment and workplace bullying issues.
- Awareness and commitment to quality and risk management concepts.
- Ability to understand contractual commitments and Franchise Commitments in relation to delivery of works, and a comprehensive knowledge of contracts and contracting arrangements within the private and public sector.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex stakeholder consultation, including with internal functional areas of the business, as well as external agencies such as Councils, Traders Associations, Service Authorities and State Government entities.
- Experience in establishing and managing a project delivery capability.
- Managing and coaching a team of Project Managers to deliver a program of high risk, high value projects using best practice project management methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to work with senior management of functional areas of the business to develop, design and deliver major projects.
- Innovative and entrepreneurial skills to review project processes to introduce process improvement and cost savings.
- Must be available on call 24/7 and undertake works out of hours and weekend as dictated by the project
