We are a Structural/Mechanical and Crane Hire business providing a full range of steel fabrication, procurement, project construction/maintenance solutions and crane hire to clients.
Full time, Permanent position is available for a Project Manager – Structural Steel Erection to work in our Adelaide Structural Division.
Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
- Ideally 10 years’ experience as a Project Manager within structural construction or manufacturing,
- Experience with Microsoft office including Project,
- Experience working with site works, Structural Steel Erection, detailing, procurement, fabrication.
About the role
Leadership of team delivering quality on-site customer projects by planning, budgeting scheduling and tracking a project plan as directed by the ‘Structural Steel Operations Manager’.
Project knowledge:
- Thoroughly understand the customer’s project and its requirements
- Understand the required budget, timelines and schedules.
Project Execution
- Assess construction sites to gather necessary client requirement information and analyse proposals, specifications, blueprints, and construction documents to thoroughly understand the project.
- Utilise the project plan effectively to ensure successful execution
- Be aware of the detailed total costing budgets to maximise cost-effectiveness during the project life.
- Control the construction site(s) as far as the implementation of the project is concerned at the site(s).
- Lead, maintain and develop an effective and productive site project team including internal resources, subcontractors and suppliers
- Effectively communicate any issues and constraints that may impact on the project plan to the ‘Structural Steel Operations Manager’ in a timely manner.
Relationships
- Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.)
- Build internal relationships with key internal stakeholders including the Whyalla & Port Pirie Operations Manager
- Establish relationships with customer representatives who can provide the intelligence required for the project’s success.
Contribute to the delivery of projects and tasks on time and within budget
- Continuous monitoring of work and production performance;
- Re-assess efficiency and introduce appropriate corrective actions when and where necessary;
- Ensuring balance between costs and production to meet objectives and time constrictions to deliver on time and within budget;
- Complete understanding of works and contractual obligations;
