Camberwell Grammar School is an independent Anglican day school for boys from Pre-Preparatory to Year 12. ABOUT THE ROLE

After successfully outsourcing the provision of Property Services for some years, we feel we are now in a position to develop the in-house capacity and management of this department with internal leadership.  

As such, the opportunity exists for an experienced administrator to support our property, maintenance and grounds teams at Camberwell Grammar School.  Our single campus school is fortunate to own a large number of quality buildings and state-of-the-art facilities including sports grounds, gardens, a pool and a Performing Arts Centre. We are an innovator in major sustainability initiatives.

Reporting to the Property Manager, you will be the ‘go to’ person for the Property Department and provide administrative support for property, maintenance and grounds programs of work for the entire campus, off site sporting venues and school owned adjoining properties and will actively participate in future development initiatives. 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administration support for property, maintenance and grounds
  • Coordinating contractor site inductions, sign-ins and records, including the Public Liability register and
  • Maintaining records of building and maintenance works including the upkeep of drawings and records used regularly by maintenance contractors
  • Records management including administration of Occupancy Compliance, ‘As Built’ documents for all school buildings, creating trade specific files on all buildings, maintenance schedules and all property related records e.g. deeds, titles, sewer plans etc
  • Creating new Safe Work Method Statements
  • Processing contractors’ and suppliers’ invoices and purchase ordering and deliveries
  • Responding to maintenance requests as the first point of contact

ABOUT YOU

You will have a strong administration background, preferably in a similar role and love being ‘the face’ for your team.  You have exceptional computer skills along with a customer first approach.  You have strong communication skills and must be comfortable dealing with stakeholders at all levels including senior management, teachers, parents, external contractors, neighbours and a large range of trades people. You are known for your organisational and time management skills. 

You must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of OH&S and have a genuine interest in the property industry. 

Of utmost importance is your ability to understand a school environment and culture, which can be quite different from other industrial / commercial environments.

Relevant qualifications in Administration/ Business Management would be well considered, along with current first aid qualifications.

You will be required to have a Working with Children’s check and also undergo a National Crime Check.
