The Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) are looking for a passionate and experienced person to join the Public Engagement team as a Public Programs Coordinator (PO3).
The position sits within the Public Programs team and plays a central role in the Gallery's purpose to connect people with the enduring power of art and creativity.
The purpose of this position is to research, develop, coordinate, and facilitate a range of Public Programs and projects at the Gallery.
This includes identifying opportunities to develop new and existing audiences, increasing QAGOMA's audience engagement profile by expanding opportunities for the Gallery's diverse audiences.
The position is available for commencement in March 2024.
The position is an 18-month contract, with the potential for extension.

The Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art is the state's premier institution for the visual arts, based in two neighbouring gallery buildings on Kurilpa Point in Brisbane, Australia.
Public Engagement at QAGOMA
Audiences are at the heart of everything we do at QAGOMA. The Public Programs team develops, coordinates, and produces innovative and accessible public facing projects and events for a diverse range of audiences of all ages.
About this role
The purpose of this position is to research, develop, coordinate, and facilitate a range of Public Programs and projects at the Gallery.
Key duties for this role includes: * Initiating, organising and implementing an innovative and diverse range of Public Programs to support and extend visitor access to the Gallery's exhibitions and Collection, and opportunities to enhance scholarship and contemporary debate, utilising high level organisational skills and proactivity.
- Researching and developing strategies for audience development in the field of adult visitation, and expanding opportunities to engage other specific audiences where identified.
- With the Senior Programming Officer, leading and participating as an effective member of Public Programs and major project working groups and undertaking appropriate communication with internal and external stakeholders, sometimes leading meetings or small project teams.
- Coordinating casual staff teams for Public Programs facilitation and major Public Programs projects including rosters, timesheet and communication.
- Coordinating budgeting, reports and statistics for Public Programs. Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on progress of Public Programs.
- Requirements for role: A possession of an appropriate degree or tertiary qualification in art history, visual arts and/or museum studies from a recognised tertiary institution and demonstrated experience in working within the field of Public Programs, with an ability to contribute to effective audience development strategies within an art museum context.
- This role involves working outside of core business hours, including on weekends and after-hours for the facilitation of Public Programs, with time off in lieu offered.
