Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills to join the team. In this role you will assist the Senior Purchasing Officer in managing the procurement process, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. You will also collaborate with other departments to ensure that all purchasing needs are met and that the organization operates efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate and develop supply sources and obtain quotations
- Assist in the implementation of purchasing procedures to support BMS objectives
- Process purchase orders for local and overseas products
- Maintain up to date knowledge of the company's production schedules and related forward planning and expedite authorised purchases in accordance with policy and lead time requirements
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that purchasing needs are met and that goods and services are delivered on time
- Contribute to cost reduction by ensuring minimum delays in statutory regulations
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in purchasing
- Provide assistance to other departments as and when required
- Ensure compliance with company's Health, Safety & Environmental policies and legislative requirements
- Any other duties which are required from time to time as directed by the Finance Manager, Chief Financial Officer or Managing Director.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in Purchasing or in a similar role
- Aptitude for working with computer systems and quickly developing product knowledge
- Proficient user in Microsoft Excel, Work, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to deal with pressure in a dynamic environment
- Strong attention to detail, negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
